Using technology to make a better world
Di Grassi has stood out internationally for his stance in the field of sustainability and technology, using sport and the interest of the industry for this transformation.
Lucas's greatest idol is not someone in motorsport. There are two: Leonardo da Vinci and Elon Musk (creator of Tesla, a company that is revolutionizing the auto industry). His son's name, in fact, is a tribute to Da Vinci.
Passionate about technology, Lucas is also self-taught and seeks to use that passion to create tools and actions that help society.
At the age of 20 and already in his career as a professional driver, he created the bilingual website Smart Driver, whose goal was to teach people how to drive polluting less. It is the Brazilian personality that most defends internationally the transformation of cars into electric vehicles, the main way to remove pollution from cities (where people live and, of course, breathe), something that causes about 4 million annual deaths according to the UN.
In 2016 he took a race car to accelerate in the Arctic ice cap. The objective was to draw attention to the acceleration of the melting of the ice and the consequent global warming. It was a great adventure. In August 2020, a study revealed that the Greenland ice cap should no longer return to normal levels.
The above action and its various other initiatives drew the attention of the UN, which invited him to be the entity's ambassador in the cause of combating air pollution. Today, Lucas gives lectures around the world and does several actions.
From then on Lucas started to represent the UN. For example, he and the organization participated in a documentary in which Lucas visits Delhi, India, the most polluted city in the world, in order to expose the effects and difficulties experienced by low-income people in places with a very polluted atmosphere.
See below some videos of Lucas Di Grassi's initiatives.

With teams formed by universities and companies in the sector, which use the same chassis and engine specification. Its mission is to develop its own artificial intelligence systems. Roborace has already held two experimental championships.

Together with scientists Shlomi Haar, Inês Rito Lima and A. Aldo Faisal, Lucas signed the study using high-tech systems to map the pilot's reactions in critical situations behind the wheel and thereby identify elements that will help AI to be more efficient. The study was published in the journal Scientific Reports and on the website of the journal Nature, which specialize in scientific research.
