Di Grassi will be in this weekend in Curitiba, for the first double round of the year
Lucas Di Grassi returns to the Brazilian Stock Car series next Sunday for the double header to be held at the Autodromo Internacional de Curitiba. In a recent interview, the running world Formula E champion recalled the last time he raced in the capital of Paraná, as partner of Thiago Camilo in the Doubles Race that opened the 2016 season.
In that race, the duo started from third position and was doing a good job until a tire was punctured after their car was hit by a competitor. Lucas then had to stop for a new tire and finish in 15th place. “That was a good weekend, but unfortunately we had that problem,” says the current Formula E world champion.
Di Grassi also commented on his first race as an official driver for Hero Motorsport in the Stock Car series, held a month ago and valid for the 2018 Doubles Race. “I had in Interlagos my first contact with the our car. We had a problem early in the race and a somebody hit our car in the start and that got us out the battle to for victory. But I’m very confident for the race this weekend in Curitiba, “said Lucas, who was surprised to grab second place on the grid along with his partner Augusto Farfus.
Track activities at Autodromo Internacional de Curitiba begin this Friday. The qualifying session will be held on Saturday and the two races will take place on Sunday. The starts are scheduled for 11:00 and 12:05.
