Lucas Di Grassi led the duo’s victory with Ricardo Baptista in the second round of the Porsche Império Endurance Series – the German brand’s championship in Brazil. After a 2h12 race at the Goiânia racetrack, the pair completed the 79 laps 16s504 ahead of duo Alan Hellmeister and Luca Seripieri. Di Grassi competed at the invitation of the Samsung Notebook team and is expected to team up with Baptista again on November 30 in Interlagos, at the closing round of the competition.
“Our strategy was simple but it worked very well. I am very happy as this victory had already escaped us in other races I did in the series,” said Lucas. “We decided to pit before the others. But our team knew that if we kept the strategy we could fight for a podium or even the victory. It helped a lot that Ricardo and I did a good driving today and of course the team was perfect at all times. They all were perfect, ” said Lucas.
The race in Goiânia was marked by very hot weather. Even so, the more than 4,500 spectators on the racetrack had a terrific experience, with beautiful fights on the track and the garage fan tour crowded again.
