F-E: Di Grassi makes another recovery race in Berlin

Sixth in the final standings, Lucas was the driver who overtook the most in 2020

Lucas Di Grassi again made a recovery race at the closing round of the Formula E World Championship in Berlin on Thursday (13). The Brazilian started from tenth place and gradually went up in the classification until finishing in the sixth position, a result that also gave him the sixth place in the final score of the tournament. According to the Audi Sport team, Di Grassi was the driver who overtook the most during the 11 races of the 2020 season.

“Until 2019, I always finished in the top three of the season, including a champion title and two runners-up. It was a shame that we couldn’t repeat that performance in 2020, but it must also be said that Formula E is not easy. We had eight winners in eleven races this year, something that is routine in the category. There are many top-level drivers and teams. But our team is motivated to return to our previous standard. We have already started working on the car for 2021 ”, summed up Di Grassi, who remains the driver who won the most trophies in Formula E, with records of 32 podiums and 796 points in the six seasons.

The victory in this Thursday’s race came from Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes-Benz EQ), followed by his teammate Nyck De Vries (France). With the result Vandoorne ends the year as runner-up, with the Frenchman Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) in third place. The first place in the final classification was guaranteed by Vergne’s teammate, Portuguese António Félix da Costa. DS Techeetah also won the team championship title.
