Valencia testing, Day 1: “A positive start”

Reigning FIA Formula E champion, Lucas di Grassi completed 71 laps around the Valencia circuit this Monday, finish the first pre-season testing with the third fastest lap

Lucas di Grassi gathered together with his team and his rivals this Monday at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Valencia, Spain, for the first of three days in the FIA Formula E pre-season testing. Now carrying the number 1 on his Audi e-tron FE04, the Brazilian was third fastest.

“It was a good day of testing. The car feels very competitve. We have a very good hardware, definately better than last season’s. It is a big upgarde”, he said.

Di Grassi lapped in 1:18:579 at his best, while Oliver Turvey was fastest with Sébastien Buemi second. Among the three, only 14 thousanths of a second – between Lucas and Buemi it as only two thousandths of a second. “I am pretty confident. We have to work on a lot of things yet, improving lots of parts in the car, such as software, but I am confident we can do it in the next to days to arrive in Hong Kong in a good position”, the Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler driver finished.

Pre-season testing goes on this Tuesday and Wednesday.
