Di Grassi looks for fourth consecutive podium in F-E

Brazilian competes on Saturday at Berlin’s ePrix

Current Formula E world champion Lucas Di Grassi aims to get his fourth consecutive 2018 season podium next weekend. The championship ninth round will be held on Saturday (19) on the streets of Berlin, Germany, with Di Grassi leading the Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler squad.

Lucas finished second in the final three stages of Formula E, always ending the race on the heels of the race leader – and starring in the most exciting moments in Punta Del Este, Rome and Paris, respectively. “The victory has been close to us and I think we have not yet won by one or another detail. But we are on the right track. I think another podium is a realistic possibility for our team in Berlin, “said Di Grassi.

Di Grassi was also scheduled to compete for the Hero Motorsport team in the fifth stage of the Brazilian Stock Car on Sunday at the Santa Cruz do Sul circuit. He was scheduled to embark on a flight from Germany to Brazil. But an unexpected change in the schedule of Formula E postponed the starting time in two hours and that made no longer possible for Lucas to embark to Brazil. Despite this, the routine of the Brazilian this week has not been easy.

In addition to the commitments made by Audi – whose factory is based in Germany – Lucas also participated last Tuesday in the Energy Disruptors event, an international meeting of entrepreneurs and researchers looking for new ways to employ energy. Among other information on sustainable mobility, Di Grassi introduced them to Roborace, the company that produces the world’s first AI based racing cars, of which Lucas is the CEO and chief promoter.

Considering also Stock Car, Di Grassi has won a total of five podiums in his last six races – including two wins in the Brazilian series. “We are in a good moment and looking the good work that has been done I am sure the good results will continue to appear in both series”, commented the Brazilian. “My focus now is the Berlin race. As usual, it will be a great challenge, “he said.
